Blurb privacy

Updated October 20, 2026. Blurb is in development. This notice describes the implemented app’s data flow; installation is not yet available.

What the app reads

Blurb reads authorized product names, descriptions, types, vendors, variant names/SKUs, SEO titles and descriptions, the store’s primary language, and supported text fields for material, dimensions and care. It does not need customer or order data.

Writing and content checks

Product content, selected writing settings, merchant instructions and selected findings are sent to OpenAI’s GPT-5 mini to write or assess listing copy. API requests set store to false. This is not a promise of zero provider retention; OpenAI’s API data policies apply. Never put personal or confidential customer information in product copy or instructions.

Storage and changes

Cloudflare Workers, D1 and KV provide the app runtime, history and Shopify sessions. Stored data includes original descriptions, generated and edited drafts, applied versions, findings, settings, usage reservations and timestamps. Working edits may also be kept in this browser to protect unsaved work. Only your explicit save changes Shopify descriptions.

Retention and removal

Completed generation history is retained for up to 90 days. Unresolved saves are kept until reconciled so their outcome is not lost. Uninstalling suspends new generation; Shopify’s shop-redaction request removes the shop’s stored app history. For access or deletion requests, contact us. Restoring a previous description is available only while its original is retained and Shopify still matches the saved version.
